The International Clubhouse Community
Gateway House has been a training base in the clubhouse
model since 1988; we have provided training to more than 500 members
and staff from around the world. With the formation of the ICCD and
the development of clubhouse standards, a stronger and more profound
unification of the clubhouse culture will be experienced internationally.
The training, support, assistance, and networking opportunities available
through the ICCD cannot be replicated anywhere."

- The Massachusetts Clubhouse Coalition
The M.C.C. is a non-profit organization committed to helping
people with long term mental illness find and secure employment, housing,
and education, services and support in the community. Our membership
includes over 11,000 Massachusetts residents who have mental illness
and the staff of 26 social and vocational centers called ³clubhouses.²
Clubhouses are run jointly by ³members² and staff. Members do not live
at the clubhouse but use it as a base of community support in their
efforts to recover from the effects of mental illness. The MCC works
to strengthen and improve clubhouses while acting as an information
clearinghouse and co-ordinating body enabling the clubhouse community
to work together to improve the quality of and access to community supports.
- Commonwealth
of Massachusetts Department Of Mental Health
The mission of the Department of Mental Health (DMH) is
to improve the quality of life for adults with serious and persistent
mental illness and children with serious mental illness or severe emotional
disturbance. This is accomplished by ensuring access to an integrated
network of effective and efficient services that promotes consumer rights,
responsibilities, rehabilitation and recovery.
